Managing the Email Server via the Web Console

The Coadunation Web Admin Console makes it possible to manage the Email server via a web browser.

The following functionality is provided through the Admin console:

  • Add Relay: This can be an IP address, IP address block or a zone.
Note:A relay will have to be added for localhost and 127.0.0.1 before mail can be relayed for the localhost

  • List Relay: List the relays for this server.
  • Remove Relay: Remove the list of relays.
  • Add Domain: This creates a local domain.
  • Remove Domain: Remove a local domain.
Note will only work if no mailboxes, alias or forwards are attached to this domain

  • List Domain: List the domains on a server
  • Create Mailbox: This creates a mailbox for local delivery, it is attached to a local domain.
  • Remove Mailbox: Removes a mailbox.
Note: will only work if there are no aliases on a mailbox

  • Set Password: Update the password on a mailbox
  • Set Quota: This feature has not been implemented yet.
  • List Mailboxes: List the mailboxes on a domain.
  • Create Alias: Creates an alias for a local mailbox on a local domain.
  • Delete Alias: Deletes an alias
  • List Alias: List the aliases on a mailbox.
  • Create Forward: Creates forward list for an alias on a domain.
  • Update Forward: Updates a forward list.
  • Remove Forward: Removes a forward.
  • List Forwards: List the forwards attached to a domain.

Create relays
The first step to let mail be sent through this server is to setup the relays. A good example of a relay list is the following

  • localhost
  • 127.0.0.1
  • The local ip block this will normally look like the following 192.168.1 or 10.0.0.

Create A Mailbox
The process for creating a mailbox is as follows.

  1. Create a domain.
    • Domain Name: The local domain name
    • An option drop box: If no drop box value is supplied all mail that is not deemed local will be bounced.
  2. Create a mailbox.
    • Domain Name: The local domain name to attach mail box to.
    • Username: The name of the user at the domain to accept mail for. The full username will be (username@domain name) and that is what is required to correctly authenticate against the POP3 and IMAP4 servers.
    • Password: The password to authenticate the user with.
    • Quota Size: This should be "0" as this functionality is currently not implemented.

This documentation will be completed shortly. Sorry for any inconvenience caused by this
