Coadunation OS R1.0.B3 has been released. This version moves it from the Web OS space into the Cloud OS space. This has been done through the incorporation of a desktop news feed system that aggregates feeds from local events, intranet events and internet events. This enables the desktop to always be relevant to what is happening within the current environment and to be a useful piece of real estate.
The following daemons have been added and changes been made to enable the transition:
- Event Server, responsible for storing event information and retrieving the appropriate events based on the information supplied to the queries. (Provides an RMI and Web services interface to log events).
- RSS Reader, that polls the list of registered RSS feeds and than sends new events to the event server for display.(RMI and Web Service interfaces)
- Changes to the File manager to register changes in the environment with the event server.
Along with its existing features:
- A distributable core.
- Service broker to enable look ups within a distributed system.
- A route-able message service.
- RMI and Web Service access.
- Centralized configuration.
- Plugable user management.
- DNS and Mail Server
- Lots more..
We feel that Coadunation OS completes well within the Cloud space.
